The Swan, Winterbourne - Our Restaurant
Hello or, for reasons that will become clear, I should say HOWDY.
When you step into our remodelled "Smokehouse Saloon", you will likely be struck by how different our restaurant looks. Following the landlord's boyhood (and adult!) days of watching endless Cowboy and Western movies coupled with the desire to recycle, we have refurbished our restaurant with plenty of hints of the American Wild West.
The 'rickety' tables and our new bar have been made from old scaffold planks and our window pelmets and our wild west pictures have been framed using old pallets. Feast your eyes on our rifles, bows, arrows, native american head dress and other wild west memorabelia.
So what food type lends itself to the wild west? That is easy, - it has to be meat, meat and more meat. Inspired by the open fires out on the range and the smokey ranch houses at nights, we just knew we wanted to smoke our meats. With our Smoker in place, trips to the USA done and plenty of playing around with rubs, marinades and woodchips, we are ready.
We have something for everyone from succulent and fall off the bone ribs, tasty and tender steaks, smoked brisket, smoked pulled pork, 100% beef burger, jalepeno hot links, chicken, fish to vegetarian option.
